Port Wine Tasting at the Mansion House

Vintage Port Wine Tasting at the Mansion House

In October the Lord Mayor opened the doors of the Mansion House for a wine tasting, but a wine tasting with a difference, for this was for tasting Port Wines only and vintage Port Wines at that. It was to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Demarcation of the Douro Valley and was generously arranged by the:

"Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto".

And what an evening it was for there were no less than 48 vintage ports from the modern era (since 1773) to taste and the Mansion House was full to bursting as members poured in, for this was a treat not to be missed. Also invited were the press, local wine merchants and students from the University Wine Club.
