Oporto from the River Douro
Magnificent Porto, the medieval town tiering down to the river Douro (Ribeira), spectacular overhead bridges, "barco rabellos" moored alongside the port wine lodges, fish restaurants, olives and almonds for sale, hints of Brazil and Mozambique.

Surrounding the historic old town is a large commercial city's excellent museums and centres of music and art. In west Porto is the Atlantic with lovely beaches and fine fish restaurants a plenty.

Also the association encourages projects initiated by school, youth and special interest groups. Grant aid may also be available through our sister organisation the BRISTOL OPORTO FOUNDATION. Registered UK Charity No. 1027186.
