Join the World's Oldest AllianceBristol and Oporto were "twinned" in 1984 and share many characteristics. They are of similar size both are Atlantic ports, significant centres of manufacture and regional capitals.
The BRISTOL OPORTO ASSOCIATION welcomes everyone interested in Oporto and the Portuguese people, language and culture world wide.

Surrounding the historic old town is a large commercial city's excellent museums and centres of music and art. In west Porto is the Atlantic with lovely beaches and fine fish restaurants a plenty. Also the association encourages projects initiated by school, youth and special interest groups. Grant aid may also be available through our sister organisation the BRISTOL OPORTO FOUNDATION.
